Grabbed the collectors edition on July 3rd, been busy to really get into it though. A friend of mine is obsessed with it though, already ranked high on the ladder.
Of course I'm still bitter that I missed part of the story between Warcraft 2 and 3. Starting out with the main character of the missing game didn't help that either.
For anyone who dosen't remember, "
Warcraft Adventures" is what I am talking about. Being a big adventure game fan, nothing irritated me more then when Blizzard canceled it, due to it not being 3D. It's story was fine, enough so to justify it's release onto book. The art was great, looked like Dragons Lair or similar games. But because Lucasarts was developing Grim Fandango, and it was 3D, Blizzard canned it instead of reworking it.
Thats when my faith in Blizzard changed quite a bit. I still love their games, but I no longer see them as a company willing to take a chance. They have so many rabid fans to ensure the success of Worlds of Warcraft. But I don't see it being any different then any other MMORPG.
Oh well, not much can be done now. I do have Ful lThrottle II to look forward to for a new adventure game. At least Lucasarts sees the adventure crowd as a viable crowd (though small) and tosses us some scraps between all their Star Wars games.
