Actually, my bitrates are relatively tame. They are VBRs, ripped with Sonic Foundry's Siren (no longer available, pity...), with VBR settings configured for best quality sound. I just happen to have a bit bigger collection loaded (highest FID = 17,182 decimal, 431E hex, combined database file sizes are just over 2MB). I think the Mark 1 could do it, just that I have never had one to try it with...
