Sandbox games can frequently be boring to talk about, but this one really manages to set you up for some interesting adventures.

Last night I discovered an alien artifact on the Mun, a giant stone archway a hundred stories tall. I saw it when I was on approach with a lander. I wasted a bunch of fuel trying to change my landing site to be closer to it. (I later checked the wiki, and it says the Kerbal solar system is full of easter eggs like that.)
