I would have gone with that camera instead of the 20D had it been available then, at current prices! But neither was the case 11 months ago.

I am wondering if I should be going the other direction. I had always written off the big L lenses and the 1D/1Ds as far too heavy for me (let's ignore the problem of expense for the moment).

However, the other day I had a play with a coworker's 1D MkII and EF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS USM. I was amazed that it didn't actually feel that much heavier in use than my 10D + 75-300 IS. I think it is down to the balence, heavy lens + heavy body evens things out.

Thankfully I don't have the money at the moment for such extravegance and I expect my 10D to last me a few more years yet. I have however finally ordered the battery grip for my 10D, so I can pretend to have a big Canon body at least

P.S. The continuous mode on the 1D was astounding. You have to be very quick on the shutter button to manage to take a single shot, it is so quick. And the viewfinder is so much bigger, more than the 1.6 vs 1.3 crop would suggest.
