Hey, cool, guys. Doesn't need to be as complicated as an ActiveX, just a simple DLL with a few exposed functions would be enough. Ideally, you'd want it to (a) automatically find the hosts file on the appropriate system, which is different depending on which windows version your're running, and (b) optionally write the designated hostname/ip to the hosts file, or simply return the requested IP address without writing to the hosts file.
