Lock-switch in a Karma

Lock-switch in a Karma - 19/10/2008 06:50

I decided to put a CF card in my Karma after reading the recent post about it here, along with a new battery. Various sites mention that it's easy to break the lock-swith, so I was careful when dismantling the player, but then forgot about it. When I was finished fiddling with the player because it was a bit difficult to get the adapter and card to fit, of course the switch was broken... Does anyone know where I can get a couple of new switches, as I use the Lock-button quite a lot?

I believe a suitable switch can be found on digikey; you may need to take some measurements and look at the pictures in the catalog closely to make sure you get the right one.

Buy a couple because they break easily wink

Thanks, Hugo.

Do you know if they might be available from Farnell as well, as it's easier to order from Farnell than Digikey?

Hmm, possibly. See part number 3931225.

The datasheet is not on farnell's site, but the manufacturer has it here: http://www.ck-components.com/14389/pcm_24mar.pdf

Worth checking the measurements and seeing if it'll fit. The two mounting lugs, side solder mount points and uneven 3 terminal spacing on the back look familiar - it's not the one that was actually used, but there are a lot of equivalents in the switch world....

edit: on the other hand, farnell appear to want to charge you 16 quid to send it...

Thanks, Hugo.

That number was out of stock, but they had 9575146 as an equivalent and in stock. Here they charge £6 + VAT in shipping. I'll check the measurements and just add it to my next order from Farnell if it'll fit.
