Please help.

I was having problems downloading to my empeg using b13 and hijack 300 using either emplode or jemplode 43/44.

So I decided to download the b13 and start again.

Anyway, during the download I got the following message :-

Error flash program failed occurred during stage 0x11.

Now my empeg is dead (well the standby light flashes and thats it).

Also emplode doesn't find it :-(

What do I do to fix it?

it's a mk2a.

Thanks

- Remove the power from the player.

- Run the beta 13 upgrade.

- Do not apply power to the player until prompted to do so by the upgrader.

Tony,

Thanks for that. It worked.

Now to see if my music download problems are fixed.

Maybe time to add that to the FAQ? I've seen that advice given to many people in the past year.

If they can't read the instructions shown by the program itself, what are the chances they're going to read the FAQ?

Maybe time to add that to the FAQ?

It's in there, in the section about upgrading the software:

Sometimes you will need to leave the player's power cable unplugged until you are prompted on the screen (by the upgrade software) to apply power. In most cases, this is not needed because the upgrader will try to reboot the player automatically. But sometimes it's still necessary. This "worst case scenario" is hard-coded into the player's protected flash so that you can still upgrade the player even if the installed software is totally hosed.

Ah...I was searching for it so that I could link to it and didn't find it. Perhaps a question in the troubleshooting section like:

"I farked up the software on my player and now it won't boot. How can I reset it to normal?"
