Anyone know what serial output would look like if you were connecting to the Empeg without a null modem cable (i.e. regular serial cable) ? Is it possible you'd see roughly the number of bytes you expect, but it would basically look like garbage?

I wouldn't expect to see any output without a null cable. The transmit and receive wires would be backwards so you shouldn't get any output. I would expect garbage if you had the speed set wrong or maybe flow control enabled. Granted I haven't actually tried it.

Looks like the empeg isn't there. I tried it.
