I guess thats their response to
Dish Having Sirrus for a while now. I suppose for most people it could be nice, but I find I tune to a lot of internet radio stations when at home.
Music Choice is like totally bumbed out right now...

Music Choice is weak. XM will be a big improvement. I've got XM in the car now, and there are times that I want XM at home. Even better, this means that I can program the TiVo to grab some of XM's radio shows (e.g., "Stand Up Sit Down" where they interview comedians). Now if only I could painlessly extract those shows to MP3 files...

My DirecTiVo used to have a "wishlist" to record "jazz" and ended up recording tons of MusicChoice jazz (which is pretty poor, but it did work). Unless they said they're changing it for XM, I'd expect the same behavior to continue.
My DirecTivo didn't let me record music channels either... I wonder if this was a software thing and isn't the case anymore.

Maybe it was because mine was a Series 1? I haven't tried on my new HD-TiVo.
Meanwhile, if you go to channel 800, there's a scrolling message that tells you which XM channels are coming to DirecTV. The decisions are somewhat arbitrary. Total Choice gets some nice music channels, like Real Jazz, which is fantastic. Other good channels like Fred (alternate 80's music) only show up in Total Choice Plus. Annoyingly, Comedy XL doesn't show up at all.
