Are you talking about the IE toolbar or something else ?

Oh, wow, I don't have that.. Maybe because I deselected the option that sends info back to Google?

Thank god....

I don't have it either and I do enable the option to send data back to them.

Yeah, but I thought I had disabled all that stuff too... Just unlucky, I guess... Nope - I had the "Page Rank" display turned on. GAH!!!!

I have that ugly bar at work, but not at home. Both locations don't send info to google.

I've got it at home, now that it's the 14th... But I didn't have it yesterday morning and I didn't have it at work at 6pm either.

I first noticed the watermark inside the search box but failed to recognize the shapes as hearts. I thought I was seeing spots for a second or some corruption hd just popped up.

Oh, right, IE, nevermind.

I still think using keywords is easier than those dedicated boxes.

What version of the toolbar are you folks using? A friend of mine pointed this out to me earlier today. He had it and i didn't. I was on version .95 and he was on 104 or something... might have something to do with it?

Hm, guess I'll upgrade the toolbar on Sunday then, when it's safe.

Re: Ick! My Google search bar just went all lovey - 14/02/2004 03:04

Yes, but the Google tool bar has other great features, like the set of buttons it gives you for each word in the search term to allow you to search the page that you open from the search results.

I just have a google edit box and button at the bottom of my links page. I use the google toolbar for popup blocking, but I've never actually typed anything into it.

Welp, i'm at .107 at home, woke up this morning to stupid hearts. wow that's annoying.

Oh, come on. It's cute.

Re: Ick! My Google search bar just went all lovey - 14/02/2004 15:02

Oh, absolutely. The features it provides are great. But it only works in IE, and, therefore, under Windows. Drakino posted a screenshot of Mozilla or ilk, for which it's not available and for which others have made minimal replacements, meaning just a box to enter a search. Using the standard URL bar is easier, IMO.

I just have a google edit box and button at the bottom of my links page.
But my way, all I have to do is ``Ctrl-Tg search query''. That three characters, I never have to touch a mouse, and I don't need a home page.

Actually more than just a search box is available for Mozilla browsers, the full blown bar

I'm giving it a try in Firefox. For some bizarre reason it decided that I wanted to use the Nicaragua as my Google search language...
