Thanks for all your work, guys! I'm looking forward to strolling Manchester in the daylight when it's not raining. Or, does that never happen?

Often! When I was first moving up from London at the beginning of the 70's, a Mancunian told me that the girls were stunning: I can't say that I've noticed that the proportions are any different to elsewhere: Statistically, not bodily!

Naturally I'll be there, without fail, Mrs. Boxer is wavering!

Fortunately we decided that we are not doing Goodwood Revival this year, so that weekend is free. But I might not get the 101 sorted out in time, even if it would be a great Manchester vehicle

Kick ass. I'm there, but more than likely won't bring the car as the train is so much more convenient and relaxing

Wow! You can afford the train, most of us have to slum it on the plane!

Ugh.. with the out-of-the-way facilities, check-in and security hassles, cramped seating, etc.. why would anyone not want to take the plane?

Hmm. The wife's birthday is that weekend, so I'll have to sweet-talk her into allowing us to come.

Assuming that I can manage that, we're so there.

Aye up lads and lasses, we'll be there...

It'll be nice to see it again - not been in the Arndale since they blew it up...

Mmm - Dr Who....

I might have to take different transport, as far as I am aware Manchester != Subaru but I'm looking into it.

I would've said 'Manchester != Cars in General' simply because of the cost of parking.

Why is everyone convinced that they're going to get their cars nicked in Manchester? In the ten years I've lived here I know of only one person to have their car stolen and that was an X reg Escort in Bolton that could've been started with a screwdriver.

Oi! Leave off our crown, Leeds is the car nicking capital of the Country! One of my neighbours lost a golf with the kids pet rabbits inside: It was found torched, but they had had the consideration to take the rabbits out and leave them nearby.

Re: International Owners Meet 2007 - Date Set !!! - 04/04/2007 20:55

I know of 3 people who have had 8 cars stolen (5 Subarus, a Cossie and a couple of others) and when I had to visit a client there they told me not to park in their car park as they regularly had kids break into cars and joyride them round their car park until they trashed them or the police came.

So it worries me...

I would've thought it a problem in the less salubrious suburbs and if you like to park on unlit unattended patches of gravel rather than a secure car park.

Where the hell was that?

A travel company, which may have recently been part of a merger...just north of Manchester, near the motorway.

Rory, I could tell you somewhere in Glasgow not to take your car or the same would happen. I'm sure you could tell me about somewhere in Edinburgh. Every city has its car crime but I'll not let it ruin my enjoyment or make decisions for me re taking my car on a trip. Relax... besides... you're insured

Totally agree (was probably just being slightly argumentatively pessimistic)

Currently trying to see if we can work it round child care. Lexie will be a bit too old to just be carried around in a sling this year!

I had my Scooby stolen whilst sitting at a set of traffic lights in Manchester, so it does happen. A nice coloured gentleman with a knife opened the drivers door (I know, it should have been locked), and politely asked me to get out. Which I did.

Fortunately, I was sitting at the traffic lights right outside the hotel I was staying at. A quick call to PC Plod, and they caught the blokes on the M60 about 15 minutes later.

On the flip side, I drove my Evo 6 around Manchester for more than a year, and never had any problems at all.

On the childcare front, just ask Craig

Failing that, I'm sure there will be plenty of us parenty types who could help out.

Andy.
