Fixed my dim display in 5 Minutes!

Fixed my dim display in 5 Minutes! - 15/04/2003 15:25

My main empeg has a red lense. I'd lost my hex wrench and had to send the main in for a dry solder fix.

My backup was/ is scheduled for repair due to a dim display and crappy buttons (they don't stick out as far as on my main, and feel a little like they're 'sticking').

My main came back in a couple days ago, but somehow it's aquired amnesia and has lost about 30GB of music. While trying to figure out how to fix the problem without resynching everything I decided to swap lenses(4 months with blue in a red lighted car is too many).

Hex in hand (found under a bench in the corner of an office in an alternate dimension) I attack my backup and find... 2 lenses! Buttons are fixed, display is brighter and I'm EXTATIC!!!

Anyone have any Idea as to how I might get my main to remember all those songs? Emplode says I've only 25GB free on a 60GB empeg. All my playlists are there, but only 5% of the tracks are listed. Track loss is random, with most having 0 to 3 tracks, a few having more....

Search for refs=0, and link everything you find into a playlist.

dbrasher is much more qualified to fix this, but it almost sounds like you have a Wendy Filter turned on...

Both of those questions are answered in The Predictable Place.

Something the FAQ Entry doesn't address is whether the filters take effect even in emplode. (ie, you can't see the songs you filtered out)

The Wendy filters only filter stuff you see on the empeg

So it seems this would not be my problem then.

Emplode and my empeg both show the same playlists/tracks.

Anyone, any other ideas?

I'll rectify this now, thanks.

Nah. I was wondering if the database was rebuilt with only one drive in.
You tried deleting the database and forcing it to rebuild?

I haven't rebuilt the database. I"m trying, but I'm not having much luck.
