My mum and dad want to buy my old PC from me but I don't know what its worth:

Its a Dell Dimension 4500
2.4Ghz Pentium 4 (not Celeron)
512MB RAM
40GB HDD
17'' CRT

Cheers,

Philip

Edit: Mint condition. Very rarely used.

With the monitor, I'd say a good $300 +/- condition. I just bought a Dimension 4700 from Dell Outlet for $400 without a CRT. Of course, there's always the mom and dad discount...

No more that about £300, you can get a brand new Dell with similar spec for about £400 + VAT.

Blimey! I just give my unused computer items to family members for free! If they feel the need, they give me something when I need it.

It makes a very good storage solution until you need it back, my Mum had my first PC, an Olivetti M380-XP9 (same size as a storage heater) for ages, although it did also spend some time at a mates for a while too. Now I have my own place I use it as a side table next to the sofa, and she has another cast off PC she can acctually use, that one even has a TFT which she seems to like.

Cheers

Cris.
