Well today i experienced the first traffic jam since installing my empeg on Sunday evening. Stuck for an hour trying to get to Glasgow. It was great! Closed my eyes and listened to my collection of tunes - what an experience Almost makes me glad to be stuck!

See, this is the kind of advertising I wish the RioCar had under SonicBlue. I can almost visualize the commercial now... traffic jam... car horns blaring... people leaning out of their windows screaming at each other... except for one car... the occupant is very calm, eyes closed, head bouncing gently to the music... fade to black with logo and text - music still there and a voice over "Wouldn't it be nice if all your days went this well?" or some such... fade to black...

The scary thing is that it might just happen with a BMW and an iPod ad... <shudder>

... and then suddenly realise that you've only put non calming heavy metal & techno onto the 5 special playlists in your iPod...

I'm sure you have seen the recent news story about the guy from Australia who traveled 16,000 miles across the USA without using a drop of fossil fuel.. I think it'd be cool to do a spoof that where someone drives 16,000 miles without ever hearing the same song twice or changing a single CD.

My buddy wrote all of the Roxio commercials that were on TV, I should email him and tell him to pitch it to Rio. lol

Haha, of course you can visualize it. You (and I) are from New Jersey, traffic jam capital of the....well, East Coast? Because man being stuck in a traffic jam on an 18 lane California "freeway" must be worse than all of NJ combined.

I average 1,000 miles a week and I run into quite a few traffic jams and I'm so glad everyday that I have my empeg to listen to. The worse one that I have been in was when there are a multiple car and truck pile-up with Air Care landing 2 helicopters and it was over an hour before we even started inching forward. I just sat there listening to my music and zoning everything out around me and it didn't bother me at all.

Even with an empeg I find traffic jams unbelievably tedious. I think it's something to do with being sat in a car, needing to be somewhere but not moving an inch. Now an in dash DVD player, that might help pass the time.

I've found it's helpful to quit caring what time you get to places. Of course, I *am* in LA, a place where distances are measured in units of time, and generally specified as a range between "no-traffic", and "regular traffic".
