After all the posts about the EOL and SB bashing (some by me I know), I just wanted to say that the sound quality from the tuner is fantastic. When it has full strength reception, the output is really clear. I am able to do an A/B comparison as my Clarion CD goes into the empeg aux so they use the same EQ settings.
The differnce between the Clarion and empeg is remarkable. The Clarion has quite a bit of muffling in the top end and I have to add a bit of 'trebble' (ugh how consumerish) to make it close to the empeg.

So, Overall I'm delighted with the empeg and the tuner. I'm still not happy with SB's actions, but be that as it may. I'm sure the descision was taken lightly.

Congratulations Hugo and crew on the production of a wonderful product. I'm sure you had no idea the emepg/RioCar would get this far.

Having just installed mine this evening, let me be the first to completely agree with you. Nothing to add except that the install was cake.

Well, both my buddy and I installed our tuners this last weekend. After missing the UPS delivery guy, we hurried down to the UPS office and picked them up.

The install (as described earlier) was cake, and works wonderfully. We both couldn't be happier... well unless SB could change their minds!

One additional note, the signal strength meter is something, I've had allot of head units in the past, I don't think I have ever seen one that reacted so fast. Typical refresh on head units seems to be in the 1-3 sec. range.

Thanks, John K

I concur, tuner quality seems fine with initial listening. Nice job guys.

The ID selector on mine arrived askew (see attachec pic). It doesn't affect performance, but I thought the Empeg guys might want to make the QA folks aware of this.

What is the size of the tuner module, and how much wire is provided?
I don't think I have enough room in the area of the seld and may have to mount it further away than ideal so I need to know. Thanks!

I just received mine and though I can not yet comment on the sound quality (my empeg is not here) I couldn't help but take a peek inside the module and I have to say it looks quite good. Everything is clean and well designed just as I have come to expect from the Empeg ppl. It's just top notch and everything is there up to and including a gas fuse to protect the unit from lighting (correct me if I am wrong Hugo).

I for one like it even though I haven't used it yet.

Cheers,
Hans

Similar situation here, the box was half open on one edge, when applying a bit of pressure to it, it snapped in place, though.

Slightly smaller than the square hole on the led and about 5-6 inches of extension loom, I'm guessing as mine is installed & hard to get to.
