Anyone know what's wrong with my TV? It started doing this a few weeks back. So far it has always corrected itself after a few minutes at most. Only once has it done it while using it. Every other time it does it at boot.

Indeed. I should add that it only does this on the left half.

First step is to determine if it's the TV itself doing that, or the device that you are using to provide the signal (eg. cable set-top box).

Definitely the TV. It persists across inputs and occurs when no input is live.

Well, the usual two possibilities come to mind then: (1) failing power supply (possibly due to #2), and/or (2) bad capacitor(s).

Have you googled for others with the same model and similar issues?

Actually, since you say it does it only when warming up, then perhaps it's a loose connection on a data (ribbon) cable inside. As it heats up, the metal expands, improving connections and making the problem go away.

The last time I saw something like that, a trip to the tube tester at the drug store solved the problem.

"Tube"? What's a tube?

Oh, wait. My bicycle has tubes that give me trouble sometimes. Are you saying that his TV set is leaking? smile

Edit Reason: Re-posted because I answered the wrong post before.
