Washable cutter electric opener on amazon.

Has chrome cutter that can be detached for washing.

Edit: Another brand still with removable cutter.

Most of the electric openers I reviewed on amazon had easy removable cutters for cleaning.

It's good you can wash the cutter I was unaware they made them like that now. With the manual one I can throw the whole thing in the dishwasher though.

All the canned tuna talk made me want some so when I opened the can I looked more closely at my opener and it is in fact a swing a way.

If looks just like this one.

Thanks, I think I'll try to get a Swing-A-Way like yours tonight since I'm going to the big city and will be passing an Ace hardware store. Plus they aren't that expensive. Hopefully still good. If that doesn't work out I'll move on to a Leifheit or Victorinox. Leifheit's don't seem to have a big presents in the USA.

Another vote for the Swing-A-Way. My mother's has been around for ages (since I was a kid); mine is 15 years and counting. It just works.

Yeah, that's sort of the classic can opener in my mind. I have seen one of them last almost 20 years, but I've also seen one fall apart in my hands after just a few.

I have a feeling the quality will probably not be as good as the old ones. It would probably be better if I could find one at a Good Will for 50 cents.

Universal opener, never gonna break:

Works on more than just cans.

Hard to misplace in the kitchen, too.

I can't believe no-one has suggested the P-38.

The P-51 I linked up above is a larger version (by 13mm).

I've never saw or used one. I'm sure the wife would not atempt to open anythig using that.

Looks interesting. I think I'll get one for the RV at least.

OK, I bought a Swing-A-Way hand held (made in China, hope it's good) and off eBay a P-51 and P-38.

So look out cans!
