After over a month of working on it pretty constantly, our property is starting to look pretty good again. Still some stumps to be torn up and some painting to do, but all in all, it's coming along. It's certainly nice enough to enjoy some time in the hammock on the beach, as long as the bugs aren't out.

I was at the hardware store today and took another look at the glasses that they had available. Sadly, I couldn't find any of the DeWalt goggles to try. However, one of the types of "Orange County Chopper" safety glasses that they had had positionable nose pads, and they actually worked. The wires that held the nose pads were mounted to the bridge instead of to the medial rim of the lens, and that gave them enough leeway to move to the side without getting in their own way. However, the glasses get miserable reviews online.

I'll have to revise my previous viewpoint on the nose pad style and take another look at better brands.

I've been assuming that you wear prescription eyewear, but I now suspect not.

No? It's time to go visit an optometrist, they take care of fitting every type of face and will know what safety frames can be had. The selection my not be great, but hey, they are safety glasses, you won't be wearing them where anybody will care. After that it's just a matter of having a zero power safety lens cut to fit the frames.

It will be a LOT more expensive that anything purchased over the counter, but you will get what you need.

Who knows, the optometrist may even know where the get something OTC.

Back to the top post, You should be able to take those goggles to an optometrist and have him fit zero power safety lenses to them. Presuming the lenses are replaceable at all.
