I, too, am a tough one to get out of bed.
My current regime is three different alarms on my phone and the clock radio on top of that. When the old one died I had a friend calling me, too. (She's a couple time zones away)

I've replaced the old crap with a fancy new one.
Got it $50 cheaper from the clearance/open-box section, so my need for a frugal purchase was satisfied in a weird way.

It arrived yesterday and I spent a while last night fiddling with the controls. It's a very nice radio- easy to tune and gets lots of stations. I only played with FM. Tweaked all the settings how I wanted them but missed the part about actually turning the alarms ON. lol
Hooray for back-up plans!
