Wow! Check this out. A new Zaurus sl-5600 for $299 + free shipping.

Had to order one just to make sure it was real (and because I'm a hopeless geek who can't pass up a toy like this.)

I have the 5500 and I keep wanting to do something cool with it but I can just never find anything to do ... My first attempt was to write my own IR remote (ala Pronto), but the IR transmitter on the Zaurus is so weak as to be useless.

I wonder what the warranty issues would be if I brought one to the UK? That price is really good.

What OS are you running?

The Sharp ROM or OpenZaurus?

It's been collecting dust for a long time w/ the stock Sharp ... I was rejuvinated a few weeks ago and put OpenZaurus on there and pickup up a new wireless adapter (the Socket low power vs the original massive one I had that was apparently the Special High Power (TM) model). I run out of free space to place with quickly though, so I may have to pickup an SD memory card too.

Interesting, I just looked at a couple of old UK sites that used to sell zauri (plural?) and they all seem to have to stopped stocking them. Even Sharp UKs zaurus site has dropped their 'Buy One' link from their front page.

My understanding is that Sharp has a replacement for the SL-5xxx coming out shortly...with bluetooth and wifi integrate, I think...
