I've been without my empeg in a car for a long time... since before 2.0final i believe. So now that i have it installed and my tuner plugged up.. there's all kinds of new fangled stuff in there. The thing is that now i can't get the thing to Scan for stations. I've tried turning AF on and off with no results. Holding the advance and rewind buttons on the remote no longer scans tot he next station and the front panel buttons seem to do absolutely nothing, not even jump presets. I'm sure it's something stupid that i missed reading about. Anyone wanna fill me in?

This is a bug in 2.0 final. There is a Hijack work-around for it though.

Yeah, 2.0 final has a bug where scanning doesn't work right. You can go back to an earlier beta if you like, or just punch frequencies directly with the remote.

I think we discovered that the Hijack IR-translate work around seemed to work but actually didn't. Or something like that.

OK, I was not aware since my two empegs installed in cars are running 2.00b13 and 3.00a3. Neither of these has that issue.

Ahh.. Thanks guys. I thought i was going nuts because i don't remember reading about it and i generally read every post on the BBS. =] I guess i just didn't pay attention since it wasn't installed. I'll give the hijack work around a shot. Thanks!

Sorry to hijack () this thread, but does anyone else experience a short burst of distortion when they switch to the tuner?

Almost like the thing is warming/locking up.

Many people have reported the same thing with the tuner for as long as the tuners have been around. Some people have the problems others don't. I don't know why.

It probably *is* warming up.. much (all?) of the tuner appears to be powered down when not selected, so when you switch to it, it must indeed power up ..

I do know the tuner power wire shuts off when you screen blank with the "turn off display" setting. It comes back on when the display is restored. Don't know what other conditions the tuner shuts down.
