I am curious if anyone has suggestions for hardened carrying cases. I use a slim Zero Halberton (lightweight aluminum, well-padded) for my laptop and want something equally protective [and properly sized] for my Empeg; such an investment could keep a 5' drop from nuking HOURS of work migrating my CD collection to the unit.

Yes, i have an excellent Pellican 1400 Hard Shell Case for my empeg. It's awesome!... lifetime warrenty, you can drop it in a lake, water proof, and just the right size for the empeg, power calbes, and remote. I take it with me in the house, and to the office in it. It's the best protection you can get for it.

I'll see if i can take a digital photo for you and post it. I can also give you the name of the camera shop I bought it from here in NJ. I'm sure they'll ship you one. It cost me like $45 or so, but it was wourth it!

When you see the photo, I'm sure you'll agree.

Here's that case i was talking about. I'll try and get the price that i paid. I know it was less then the web site says.

I love this case, and i have about 3 of them, different sizes. one for my empeg, video camera, and DAT recorder. I would never buy a soft case for these things.

The place i got it from is called, Dover Photo Shop, in Dover NJ.

Thanks for all the data, CHiP. I'm going to follow your lead with both case and foam. =]

Great, let me know how it works out for you. I'm sure, even if you pay $80, it's worth it. I'll tell you one thing, my friend has a Canon GL-1 DV Camera, and bought a soft case for it. Everytime we go on location to shoot video, he always says, "be careful! put my camera bag on top!" I don't have that problem with the pelican case. I think It's the only way to go with such an expensive and fragile thing.

:D
