Right, so I got the tuner PCB in the tiny box eventually, after far too much effort. Hopefully my last problem is that when I insert the pins of the molex connector into the connector itself, they just come right back out again, even they are supposed to be very difficult to remove. I've realized that some of them don't go in all the way because too much solder is blocking them from doing so, but other seem as though they should be just fine. Any ideas? Thanks!

There are tiny metal tabs that project outwards from the pins -- those tiny little tabs are what normally keeps the pins inside the molex connector housing..

Check on the little tabs, and bend them GENTLY and SLIGHTLY more outward if need be..

In my case, I had actually soldered some of those tabs. A little heat, and a solder sucker took care of that.
