Why won't SonicBlue ship to the UK from the US ??? This really really gets on my nerves. I want one of these...

Could work out the same as an import +vat +import charges +shipping. Is £165 a good price ??? I know they are £300 from amazon. What attracted me was $120 ie under £90 plus shipping, is the Riot any good ??? I'm not bothered about the size and I think the iPod is weedy, not impressed by it at all.

Okay if you have an empeg the riot is no where near as good also it comes with a virus known as realplayer for just now ( hint hint rob)

It has a radio in it which the ipod has not got.

The main downfall of it is it only uses soup views so it basically forces on to you the playlist structure it come up with where as the empeg you could arrange your own play lists going buy what ever you want.

Have you seen an ipod or played with one as they are damn nice pieces of kit, not quite up to empeg standars but closer than the riot

I have got an empeg and a riot and my mother has an ipod but if you are patient wait for the pearl i think it might be good

I played about with a mates iPod on the train to Scotland ;-) a couple of weeks ago, after 2 hours I was not a convert. The Empeg must be just too good, it makes everything else look basic. But will I ever find an Empeg that I can fit in my pocket with out a 12v Battery strapped to my back ??? Trust me I thought about this one.

Price is a big worry, for £165 I get 20Gig. A 20Gig iPod? I dread to think. I think I'm going to go for a Riot, the Pearl may be better but for the extra money will it be worth it ???

I really don't like RealPlayer, is there a way around using it ??? It's almost worth buying a Mac to get away from it.

IF you don't like the ipod in comaprison to the empeg you will be slightly disapointed by the riot experience and as to getting round realplayer there is son of emplode on the way hopefully from rob and the boys

You can use itunes to sync the riot too.

And you can make playlists.

Got mine today.

I like it better than the iPod, each man to himself I suppose.

I hate Real Jukebox, any chance of getting emplode to work with it anytime soon ???

Ive been tempted to bid for one ebay. For $130 i mean how much do 20 gig laptop drives cost? For the money it seems like a good deal even though its a refurb.

Rob has hinted at emplode or something similar working with the Riot soon. Believe me, i've been VERY vocal of my hatred for using any Real product with the Riot. I'd imagine it will be released at the same time as their new "Pearl" portable.
