Is it 240V AC (i.e. LV) or DC, say less than 50V (i.e. ELV)? Assuming 3 wires means it's mains:

Terminal strip is pretty common for stuff like this in fluoro battens etc and commonly used in the industry for mains. The other choice is what we call a BP like this but still not a plug and socket.

Anything properly mains rated is likely to be too big I think. If it's mains why would someone be touching it and disconnecting it?
