A possible solution to this would be to simply rename the files with this new Artist wouldn't it? mp3tofid should then sort appropriately I think. Or do you not want to do that?

Also: whilst your issue with Frank Zappa wouldn't be solved, jemplode/emplode should already do what you what you want and sort excluding "The" and "A" etc. There is an option for "intelligent" sort in mp3tofid which probably does that for you.
