I find it very sad.

It is disappointing that the work he's championed is being abandoned by the commercial distros - though I suppose they could claim support issues given Namesys' uncertainty.

Hans is a visionary - not sure how viable his ideas are in the linux kernel or how solid the implementation is - but the dedication he's shown over the years is impressive.

I used to use ReiserFS and had a problem so I paid for some Namesys support and the guys helped me out.

I suspect that this gives me some kind of irrational 'bond' and leads to a desire to support him in some way - quite fascinating!

From an outsider's viewpoint it looks like he's got some serious problems in his life - certainly more than those solely informed by the media could ever hope to get a grasp on.

I can certainly see 'complications' with the relationships depicted, being a Russian in the US, and given some of the comments made in that interview.

I'll continue to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he's innocent unless a trial shows otherwise.
