Yes, this has been suggested elsewhere. Right now, we have two search modes: "Search by title" which dumps the playlist immediately and only plays the search result, and "Append by title" which adds the search result to the end of the playlist.

What we need is a third mode called "Insert by title", which inserts the search results immediately after the current song in the playlist. Personally, if such a mode does get written, I think this should become the default mode because it's always what I want to do. In fact, I don't think I have ever wanted the search to behave the ways that it currently does.
