I just took it all apart. Seperated the umm... seperator panel that the fan and docking connector are on completely out and removed all the hardware that is screwed in. Then you just have the top and bottom parts of the dock. I masked the runners, and most of the back of the dock with masking tape, then just applied 3 or so coats of run of the mill rustoleum black spray paint. The finish is rougher than i would have liked.... so my only advice is to sand it very lightly with some fine grit paper just to get any loose particles and rough spots, then wipe it off with a damp cloth and let it dry. THEN paint it. I just layed it down on some card board and did one side at a time. i'm going to do some stenciling on my other dock if i ever get around to it.
