Which is why I depend on the owner's manual (written by the mfr rather than the dealer) to tell me how to handle things like the break-in and the oil change interval.

My Saab's oil change interval in the manual is every 10,000 miles. Even the first change was recommended at 10,000 miles. I think that's nuts. I had the first oil change done at 1,000 miles and have been changing it every 4,000 since then.
