Hi,
>what were you thinking about doing with bluetooth on the empeg
You mean, what the hell I want to do if it works? No idea :-).
Most important is to let bluetooth run ;-). I could imagine to realize a serial port via bluetooth for connectiong with hyperterm, or maybe let the bluetooth-adapter act as a WLAN-access-point (personal-area-network-profile or LAN-access-profile) at the ethernetport for connection with a bluetooth-laptop.
I am convinced about the following solution:
But, personally for me, I want the empeg to know if I am there (I always have my Nokia 6210 + Bluetooth wth me) or my girlfried wants to use my car (owns her own mobile). So the decision for playlists could be done automagically :-). Wow!
If I am more than 10 meters away from the car, my empeg would know that I'm away (so we also can close the windows, lock the door and let the music stop...
Am I crazy or do I only see what everybody uses in 10 years? Let us be the first, now :-).
> and are you talking about the bluetooth to serial adapter?
Oh, this is just an example. I would prefer a bult-in solution, not only for using on serial port (as I stated, I need the serial for GPS - but haven't got it to work yet).

Oops? I just got an battery-pack with built-in bluetooth for my Nokia 6210. Yes, instead of having 5 days without hanging it on the charger, I have to put it every 3 or 4 days on the charger. But I can charge it automatically in the car (freehand-talking-machine), it doesn't disturb.
What do you think about a bluetooth-phone-identifier in the empeg? You may take actions if you are in range or even not.
best regards,
Rolf
